Peter Haywood: Commercial Manager
Peter entered the construction industry in 1982, qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor with a BSc from the South Bank University, London in 1987.
From 1983 until 2002 Peter progressed from Trainee to Managing Surveyor at three Building Contractors working within the London area, being either office or site based on a wide variety of new and refurbishment projects. During this time he also performed the role of Estimator and Project Manager on various projects in which he was involved. This experience was obtained through both traditionally (architect run) contracts and Design and Build procured work.
Peter immigrated to New Zealand in 2002 to work as a Senior Surveyor and then Commercial Manager at the BOP office of a national contractor. At Brunel he has instilled this ethos of being a team player and decision maker, often being involved in projects beyond that of just quantity surveyor. He endeavours to build client’s confidence by being openly proactive in advising of cost implications in client changes, with honesty and integrity being of paramount importance in all that he does. He has an excellent rapport with his staff, construction and contract workers, as well as with clients.
